Peter Geiger Gives $1 Million to Tree Street Youth's Canopy Center

LEWISTON, Maine – Peter Geiger, vice chairman of Geiger, has committed $1 million to support Tree Street Youth's Canopy Center initiative in Lewiston, Maine.
The gift represents one of the most significant contributions to the project and brings Tree Street Youth significantly closer to completing the Canopy Center, a resource hub focused on supporting children from birth through age four and the families who care for them.
For Geiger, the investment reflects a longstanding commitment to strengthening communities through early support and educational opportunity.
“My philanthropic focus has always been on supporting initiatives that improve the health, wellness, and future of our community, particularly for those who need it most,” said Geiger. “What stood out to me about Tree Street Youth is that they are addressing challenges at the beginning of the journey rather than at the end.”
Geiger added, “The Canopy Center represents an opportunity to invest in children and families during the critical years from birth through age four. We can now dedicate more of our time and energy to developing the programs, staffing, and advancing the Sunward Legacy Fund, a long-term sustainability initiative designed to ensure the Canopy Center and Tree Street Youth's impact endure for generations.”
The Canopy Center is designed to support children from birth through age four and the families who care for them. The center will provide a dedicated space where families can find help during some of the most important years of a child's development.
